The fine print, in plain words.
Halftone is a limited-run label operated by Royal Studios, St. George, Utah. These policies apply to every drop. Last updated .
Returns & exchanges
Every drop is a small numbered run, so we can't restock or swap freely — but we also won't leave you stuck with something that arrived wrong.
What you can return
- Anything that arrives damaged, defective, or not as described — full refund or replacement (while we still have one), including return shipping.
- Unworn, unwashed apparel with tags attached, within 14 days of delivery — refund to the original payment method, minus the original shipping cost.
- Unopened tech and office gear in original packaging, within 14 days of delivery.
What we can't take back
- Worn, washed, or used items, or anything without its numbered tag or packaging.
- Items marked "final sale" on the drop page at the time of purchase.
- Returns started after the 14-day window.
Exchanges
Size swaps are possible only while that size is still in stock. Because runs are small, that's often not the case — if it isn't, we'll refund instead.
How to start one
Reply to your order confirmation email with your order number and what happened. We'll send a return label or instructions within two business days. Refunds are issued within 5 business days of the item arriving back, and typically show on your statement 3–10 days after that depending on your bank.
Shipping
Each drop page lists its ship window (usually 5–7 business days after the drop closes, since some runs are made to the final count). Shipping cost is calculated at checkout by weight and destination.
- United States: USPS or UPS with tracking. Free shipping on any drop is stated on the drop page if it applies.
- International: available on most drops. Duties, taxes, and customs fees are the buyer's responsibility and are not refundable.
- Tracking is emailed when the label is created. If a package shows delivered but you don't have it, wait 48 hours (carriers often mark early), check with neighbors, then reply to your confirmation email and we'll open a claim.
- Wrong address at checkout: if it hasn't shipped, we can fix it. If it has, we'll reship once it returns to us, at the buyer's shipping cost.
How drops work
- One product (or set) at a time, in a fixed, numbered edition. When it sells out or the timer ends, it's gone. We don't reprint or restock.
- Numbers are assigned in the order payments complete, not when you add to cart. A reservation holds a spot only until its payment link expires.
- Purchase limits (usually 4 per person) exist so real people get them. Orders that look like bots or resellers may be cancelled and refunded.
- Prices are in US dollars. Prices, edition sizes, and end times can change until a drop goes live, not after.
- Colors and materials are shown as accurately as screens allow. Handmade and dyed goods vary slightly — that's the point.
Privacy
We collect the minimum needed to sell you a thing and get it to you.
What we collect
- When you reserve or buy: name, email, shipping address, and what you ordered. Payment details go directly to our payment processor (Stripe); we never see or store your full card number.
- When you browse: standard server logs (IP, browser, pages visited) kept briefly for security and to keep the site running. No advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking, no selling of data.
How we use it
- To fulfil and ship your order, send its confirmation and tracking, and handle returns.
- To tell you about the next drop only if you opt in. Buying something does not subscribe you to anything.
- To prevent fraud and enforce purchase limits.
Who sees it
Only the services required to run the store: our payment processor (Stripe), our database host (Supabase), our email provider (Resend), our web host (Vercel), and the shipping carrier. Each handles data under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose we send it.
Cookies
The store itself sets no tracking cookies. Our payment processor may set cookies on its checkout page for fraud prevention.
Your data
- Access & deletion: you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Reply to any email from us to request either; we'll complete it within 30 days. We keep order records as long as tax law requires (in the US, typically 7 years), but everything else can go.
- Correction: wrong address or name on an order? Tell us before it ships and we'll fix it.
- Storage: data is stored on US servers with encryption in transit and at rest.
- Children: Halftone is not directed at anyone under 16 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
- Changes: if this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above changes with it and buyers on file will be notified by email.
Terms of sale
- By placing an order you confirm you're at least 18 (or have a guardian's permission), the information you give is accurate, and you agree to these policies.
- An order is accepted when payment is captured and you receive a confirmation email. We may cancel and refund any order before shipping — for example, a pricing error, suspected fraud, or a run that can't be completed. If we cancel, you get a full refund and that's the extent of our liability.
- Reservations are not orders. A reservation holds a number until its payment link expires; unpaid reservations are released.
- Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier accepts the package. Tracking and claims are described under Shipping.
- Halftone products are sold for personal use. Resale isn't prohibited, but we may cancel orders that appear to be for bulk resale so the edition reaches actual people.
- All designs, names, and images are the property of Royal Studios and may not be reproduced without permission.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Any dispute will first be attempted in good faith by email; failing that, in the courts of Washington County, Utah.
